Basketball Recap: Pueblo County Takes a Loss

Pueblo County lost against Pueblo East on February 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pueblo County Hornets took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pueblo East Eagles. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 13-6 in the first quarter.

Izaiah Trujillo was nothing short of spectacular for Pueblo East: he shot 5-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Trujillo has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Garcia, who put up eight points and four steals.

Pueblo County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Pueblo East, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

As of now, neither Pueblo County nor Pueblo East have any future games scheduled.
