Soccer Game Preview: John Paul II vs. Holy Cross

The John Paul II Centurions will square off against the Holy Cross Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

John Paul II's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Saturday. They came out on top against Pleasanton by a score of 2-0.

Justin Brown and Teddy Chavez scored both of John Paul II's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Holy Cross waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Yellowjackets out 2-1. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one goal.

Holy Cross now has a winning record of 3-2. As for John Paul II, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything went John Paul II's way against Holy Cross when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as John Paul II made off with a 7-0 win. Will John Paul II repeat their success, or does Holy Cross have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
