Basketball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Model Secondary School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 32-21 to the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 59-29 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Indiana School for the Deaf was led to victory by Tiana Starayev and Jaiden Moses. Starayev went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Moses went 6 for 13 en route to 12 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moses a new career-high in points.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf has already played their next game (against Spencerville Adventist Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Indiana School for the Deaf didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-44 loss against Liberty Christian on the 21st.
