Soccer Game Preview: Gibbs vs. Halls

The Gibbs Eagles will take on the Halls Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gibbs' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Gibbs who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. The Eagles got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Clinton's three. The win continues a trend for Gibbs in their matchups with Clinton: they've now won four in a row.

Halls took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Knoxville Central, sneaking past 2-1. Aydan Slover had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Halls.

Halls was without their leading scorer, Austin Brown, in Tuesday's matchup. With Brown sitting this one out, Parker Crittenden got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 48.9).

Halls' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Gibbs, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-2.
