Basketball Recap: Malcolm Picks Up 13th Consecutive Win

Malcolm extended their winning streak to 13 on Tuesday, bumping them up to 23-1. Everything went their way against the Fillmore Central Panthers as they made off with a 59-33 win. The Clippers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 21 points or more this season.

Malcolm found their leader in sophomore Payton Dolliver, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Dolliver is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Blair Duzik, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 15 points.

Malcolm smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

As for Fillmore Central, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Malcolm is ranked eighth).

Fillmore Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ali Nichols, who posted ten points. Jordyn Stassines was another key player, putting up seven points and eight boards.

Coming up, Malcolm will challenge Holdrege at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fillmore Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
