Basketball Recap: Lebanon Takes a Loss

After flying high against Frankfort last Monday, Lebanon came back down to earth. The Lebanon Tigers lost to the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins on the road by a 49-30 margin on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lebanon still got an impressive performance from Jade Mount, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Mount continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Tri-West Hendricks was led to victory by Aniyah Anthony and Lauren Bear. Anthony posted 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Bear scored 20 points. Anthony is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blair Benner, who earned four points and six boards.

Lebanon dropped their record down to 8-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Tri-West Hendricks, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-9.

Lebanon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-29 defeat against Lafayette Central Catholic on the 21st. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they will venture away from home to square off against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-West Hendricks is facing Indianapolis Arsenal Technical at the right time seeing as Indianapolis Arsenal Technical is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
