Football Game Preview: Rossville Christian Academy Wolves vs. Marshall Academy Patriots

Rossville Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Marshall Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Rossville Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Bowling Green 49-7. The Wolves pushed the score to 42-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buccaneers had no chance of recovering from.

Cayson Meadows was his usual excellent self, rushing for 172 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Rossville Christian Academy is 3-1 when Meadows posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Hamilton, who picked up 50 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, after only six points in their last game, Marshall Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Central Hinds Academy on Friday. The Patriots breezed past the Cougars to the tune of 40-7. Considering the Patriots have won eight contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Marshall Academy pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.1 points this season. As for Rossville Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Rossville Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 36-0 loss at the hands of Marshall Academy when the teams last played back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Patriots' Connor Floyd, who threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 58 yards and one TD on only five carries.
