McEachern extended the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 4 this week by beating South Cobb, 42-28. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
The Eagles moved up to 67 from 111 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. South Cobb was able to make the jump by falling to McEachern 42-28.
The Eagles' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Stephon Masha threw for 174 and one touchdown and Jeremiah Alphabet had 63 yards receiving. On the ground Chauncey Ingram chipped in 71 yards. Ingram helped South Cobb's passing attack out by catching five balls for 46 yards.
South Cobb's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Masha has thrown for 1353 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Ingram has 21 catches for 382 yards. Ingram leads the league in rushing with 573 yards.
A big matchup in AAAAAA Region 4 this week will be when Harrison takes on South Cobb. At the moment, the Hoyas are in fourth, while the Eagles are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Harrison and South Cobb face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Marty Galbraith's team comes in having scored 102 this season, while the Eagles have scored 189.
Marietta took down Kennesaw Mountain 56-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
