Basketball Recap: Canyon View Takes a Loss

Canyon View was the 52-43 winner over Desert Hills when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder on Tuesday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jack Openshaw was his usual excellent self, shooting 40% from the field on his way to 13 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds for Desert Hills. Openshaw also put up three steals, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Antene'a Tauaefa, who posted eight points and 11 boards.

Canyon View's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Desert Hills, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Canyon View will host Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Desert Hills, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on December 4.
