Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Irish vs. Hightstown Rams

The Notre Dame Irish will head out to challenge the Hightstown Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Notre Dame came up short against Princeton on Saturday, falling 10-1. The contest marked the Irish's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Notre Dame saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Stefanisko, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Hightstown hadn't done well against Steinert recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Hightstown narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Steinert 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since May 3, 2024.

The win (which was Hightstown's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average this season. As for Notre Dame, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Notre Dame couldn't quite get it done against Hightstown when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can Notre Dame avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
