Softball Recap: Barlow Comes Up Short

Barlow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sandy Pioneers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Barlow's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 16-11. As for Sandy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Barlow will challenge rival Nelson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sandy is set to face off against their familiar foe Gresham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
