San Gorgonio won the last time they faced Arroyo Valley and things went their way on Friday too. San Gorgonio narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Arroyo Valley 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

The team relied heavily on Mylia Laban, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Elizabeth Zamudio was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

San Gorgonio pushed their record up to 5-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 12.67 hits in those games compared to only 5.5 in the others. As for Arroyo Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Gorgonio will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fontana at 3:15 p.m. on April 2. As for Arroyo Valley, they will challenge Corona at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
