Softball Recap: Tough Loss for Chatfield

Chatfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 13-3 to the Blue Springs Wildcats.

Chatfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Harpstreith, who went 1-for-2 while logging 1 RBI and 1 walk. Harpstreith has also been pretty much perfect as far as strikeouts are concerned: she hasn't struck out any for six straight games.

Even though they lost, Chatfield pitchers prevented the big hits and finished the game with no home runs allowed. They have not allowed that few home runs since the 28th, when they also allowed zero home runs.

Chatfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Blue Springs, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Chatfield will head out on the road to challenge Legend at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
