 It was a good run, but  Catholic Memorial unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost  9-1 to the St. John's Pioneers. Catholic Memorial has struggled against St. John's recently, as their  contest on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 For St. John's part,  Brady Shea tossed a big game,   striking out ten batters over  5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Shea has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time he's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Noah Basgaard was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Jamie Herlihy was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Catholic Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for St. John's, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record  this season.
 Catholic Memorial will head out on the road to  take on  Xaverian Brothers at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for St. John's, they will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against St. John's Prep at 4:00  p.m.
