Prince RVT has gone a perfect 10-0 against Capital Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Prince RVT Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Capital Prep Trailblazers at 6:00 p.m. Prince RVT is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
Prince RVT took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 win over Norwich RVT.
Prince RVT relied on the efforts of Cal Williams, who went 10-for-20 on his way to 24 points and four steals, and Jordan Iverson, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Iverson has scored at least a third of Prince RVT's points. Emmanuel Ikeh was another key player, putting up two points and eight rebounds.
Prince RVT smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Capital Prep). They were the clear victor by an 86-66 margin over University on Wednesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Trailblazers with their most commanding win of the season.
Prince RVT better keep an eye on Syre Gillespie. He was instrumental in Capital Prep's win, scoring 52 points along with seven assists and five boards. The game was Gillespie's ninth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javaris Spencer, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Capital Prep picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-14. As for Prince RVT, their win bumped their record up to 3-17.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Prince RVT has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 24.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Capital Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went Prince RVT's way against Capital Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Prince RVT made off with a 73-48 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Gillespie, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Prince RVT still be able to contain Gillespie? There's only one way to find out.
