Softball Recap: Ballinger Wins Going Away Against Sonora

Ballinger won against Llano last Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Ballinger Bearcats blew past the Sonora Broncos 7-1. The victory continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won six in a row.

Jennah Halfmann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Ballinger let Kyndall Weathers and Emma Gallant run wild. Weathers went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBI, while Gallant scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Weathers a new career-high in RBI.

Ballinger's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sonora, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ballinger will host Coleman at 5:00 p.m. on March 14th. As for Sonora, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Eldorado at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
