Basketball Recap: Lamar County Takes a Loss

Lamar County and Sulligent squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Lamar County had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Sulligent Blue Devils and fell 57-26. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 54th).

Lamar County dropped their record down to 6-19 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Sulligent, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Lamar County has already played their next game (against Belgreen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sulligent will welcome Covenant Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
