Football Game Recap: Pe Ell/Willapa Valley vs. Lyle/Wishram

After some red-hot point totals in their last 3 games, Lyle/Wishram fizzled out on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 7-33 walloping at Pe Ell/Willapa Valley's hands. The result was totally at odds with the teams' state rankings as Lyle/Wishram enjoys a hefty 166 spot advantage.

Junior Max Smith was the offensive standout of the match for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, as he rushed for 128 yards and 1 touchdown. Sophomore Logan Walker was in the mix, too, providing Pe Ell/Willapa Valley with 2 touchdowns.

The defeat dropped Lyle/Wishram's record to 3-1. The win bumped Pe Ell/Willapa Valley's record up to 4-2.

Lyle/Wishram will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Mary M. Knight. Lyle/Wishram have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Mary M. Knight are surely hoping to exploit. As for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, they will face off against South Bend. Pe Ell/Willapa Valley will be strutting in after a victory while South Bend will be stumbling in from a loss.
