Basketball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-10. They were dealt a 60-14 defeat at the hands of the Seymour Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Wildcats are ranked 24th).

As for Seymour, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Mia Perry had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Valentina Melissano, who posted nine points and five steals.

Kennedy has already played their next matchup (against Torrington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Seymour, they will host Thomaston at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
