Basketball Recap: Menlo School Knights vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

Menlo School lost against Sacred Heart Prep back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Menlo School Knights took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sacred Heart Prep Gators. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gators 15-8 in the first quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sacred Heart Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Osterloh, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Those eight boards gave Osterloh a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Straser, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points.

Menlo School has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Sacred Heart Prep, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menlo School will host Priory at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Priory is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.6 points per game this season. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they will face off against King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. King's Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully Sacred Heart Prep likes a good challenge.
