Sparrows Point is 7-2 against Pikesville since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Pointers will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Saturday, Sparrows Point didn't have quite enough to beat Westminster and fell 2-1. The game marked the Pointers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pikesville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Randallstown by a score of 6-5.

Isaac Garonzik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Spencer Evans and Kairee Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Evans got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Williams went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Williams has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ian Davis, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Pikesville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Sparrows Point, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Sparrows Point took their win against Pikesville in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Pointers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
