Even though Neligh-Oakdale has not done well against Bloomfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Neligh-Oakdale came out on top against Bloomfield by a score of 51-41.
Hailey Horstmann was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Neligh-Oakdale's points. Another player making a difference was jayce gadeken, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Wausa came up short against Hartington-Newcastle on Tuesday and fell 53-44.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sienna West, who scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Dawson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Neligh-Oakdale's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Wausa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
Neligh-Oakdale came up short against Wausa in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 49-37. Thankfully for Neligh-Oakdale, Alexa Cunningham (who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
