Soccer Game Preview: Charter Oak vs. Wilson

The Charter Oak Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Wilson Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Charter Oak's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Charter Oak is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against West Covina on Tuesday. Charter Oak fell just short of West Covina by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Wilson fell victim to Covina and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Colts, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 674th, while the Colts are ranked 290th).

This is the second loss in a row for Wilson and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Charter Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12-1.

Charter Oak suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Wilson when the teams last played on January 7th. Can Charter Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
