Football Game Preview: Manila Lions vs. Rivercrest Colts

The Manila Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Rivercrest Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Manila put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Piggott 43-6. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Mohawks: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Rivercrest's game on Friday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Osceola by a score of 33-20.

Manila better keep an eye on Lexx Latham. He was instrumental in Rivercrest's win, rushing for 282 yards and one score while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Latham is now averaging an impressive 120.2 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Jayden Ralph, who threw for 74 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five passes.

Manila's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Rivercrest, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Manila took a serious blow against Rivercrest in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 45-6. Thankfully for the Lions, Cavonta Washington (who threw for 120 yards and four TDs on only ten passes, and also rushed for 56 yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
