Baseball Recap: Edon's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Edon dropped their record down to 8-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairview Apaches. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bombers of the 7-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Edon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadin Stantz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Stantz has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

As for Fairview, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Fairview's side, Cash King looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jesse Coolman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Shady Fritch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coming up, Edon will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Swanton at 5:00 p.m. As for Fairview, they are taking a road trip to challenge Elida at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
