Basketball Game Preview: Jack Britt Buccaneers vs. Lumberton Pirates

Jack Britt hasn't had much luck against Lumberton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Buccaneers will head out to challenge the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jack Britt comes in on four and Lumberton on six.

While Jack Britt didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Gray's Creek by a score of 54-43 on Tuesday. Those 54 points were actually the fewest the Buccaneers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Lumberton and South View had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Tigers 45-43. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly two points.

Jack Britt's record is now 6-1. As for Lumberton, their record now sits at 6-0.

Jack Britt lost to Lumberton on the road by a decisive 51-34 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
