Baseball Recap: Southwest Guilford Takes a Loss

Southwest Guilford fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Ragsdale on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cowboys have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Southwest Guilford saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graham Sutherland, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Southwest Guilford's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. As for Ragsdale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

While Southwest Guilford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
