Soccer Preview: North Putnam vs. Western Boone

The North Putnam Cougars will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Western Boone Stars at 5:30 p.m. North Putnam is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

North Putnam's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Indian Creek by a score of 2-0. Even though the Cougars got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Baylee Turner was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Kassidy Hackleman was the driving force of North Putnam's attack as she scored both of North Putnam's goals, bringing her season total up to 15 goals.

Western Boone fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They skirted past Decatur Central 1-0.

The win snapped North Putnam's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-6-1 record. As for Western Boone, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6-1.
