It was a good run, but Norfolk Collegiate unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints 66-62. The Mighty Oaks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was led to victory by Madden Gilliatt and Noah Cannon. Gilliatt dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards, while Cannon dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Gilliatt's tenth in a row with at least ten points. KJ Pidgeon also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Norfolk Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norfolk Collegiate will host Steward at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they will be playing at home against Hampton Roads Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
