Preview: Ridgway Elker vs. St. Marys Flying Dutch
The Ridgway Elker will head out on the road to face off against the St. Marys Flying Dutch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgway will be strutting in after a victory while St. Marys will be coming in after a loss.
Ridgway posted their biggest win since December 16, 2023 on Saturday. They put the hurt on Brockway with a sharp 52-32 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Ridgway has posted against Brockway since February 8, 2019.
Meanwhile, St. Marys' recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Monday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-31 walloping at the hands of Elk County Catholic. St. Marys has not had much luck with Elk County Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, St. Marys saw an underclassman step up: Devlin Caskey scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caskey has scored all season.
Ridgway's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for St. Marys, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Ridgway was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Marys when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 36-28. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was St. Marys' Anthony Nedzinski, who scored 18 points.
