Recap: Troup County Tigers vs. Cairo Syrupmakers
With a playoff game on the line, the Troup County Tigers rose to the challenge on Saturday. They secured a 14-10 W over Cairo. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Troup County also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Troup County was led to victory by Logan Sinkfield and Noah Dixon. Sinkfield rushed for 84 yards on only ten carries, while Dixon gained 123 total yards and two touchdowns.
Troup County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Cairo, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Troup County will head out on the road to face off against Spalding at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spalding knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Troup County likes a good challenge. Cairo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
