Baseball Recap: Jennings Has No Trouble Against Lake Arthur

Jennings's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lake Arthur Tigers with a sharp 11-4 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Collin Watson tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Jennings is undefeated when Watson allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jennings let John Mason Futch and Jayden Benoit run wild. Futch scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3, while Benoit went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Benoit has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Hebert, who went 4-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Jennings was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Jennings has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. The loss snapped Lake Arthur's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-9 record.

Jennings will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lake Arthur: the pair will be back at it again later today.
