Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Township Spartans vs. Upper Moreland Bears

Springfield Township is 0-10 against Upper Moreland since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Springfield Township Spartans will be playing at home against the Upper Moreland Bears at 7:00 p.m.

Springfield Township is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 20th last Friday. They were beaten by William Tennent 69-36. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Upper Moreland got the win against Neshaminy on Friday by a conclusive 63-40. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Upper Moreland pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Springfield Township, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.

Springfield Township was dealt a bruising 61-33 defeat at the hands of Upper Moreland in their previous meeting back in January. Can Springfield Township avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
