It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Laurel Highlands ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the West Mifflin Titans 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Titans on April 11th, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Payton Senge spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Payton Rambo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Laurel Highlands' victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for West Mifflin, they moved to 10-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Laurel Highlands didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 loss against Belle Vernon on the 29th. As for West Mifflin, they have also already played their next contest, a 20-1 win against Oakland Catholic on the 1st.
