Basketball Recap: Hadrian Reitsma's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rockwall-Heath over Tyler Legacy

Rockwall-Heath entered their matchup against Tyler Legacy on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Rockwall-Heath Hawks took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tyler Legacy Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-41 back in January.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hadrian Reitsma, who went 6 for 10 en route to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Cranford, who posted 16 points and five boards.

It was another big night for Ja'Corian Oes, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds for Tyler Legacy. Oes' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Jayden Jones was another key player, going 5 of 11 to rack up 11 points.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 23-9. As for Tyler Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 21-12 record this season.

Rockwall-Heath will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wylie at 7:00 p.m. on February 17th. Wylie will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Rockwall-Heath surely won't give up without a fight. Tyler Legacy has already played their next game (against North Forney), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
