Preview: Stratford Elks vs. New Deal Lions
The Stratford Elks are on the road again on Friday and play against the New Deal Lions at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Hopefully Stratford is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Deal in Texas (Stratford is ranked 247th, while New Deal is ranked 561st).
With a playoff game on the line, Stratford rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down the Bulldogs 22-7.
It was another big night for Bryce Braden, who rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, New Deal entered their tilt with Cisco with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. New Deal simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Cisco 52-21 on the road. New Deal might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by 31 points or more this season.
Their wins bumped Stratford to 12-0 and Stamford to 9-2.
Everything came up roses for Stratford against New Deal in their previous meeting back in November of 2014 as the team secured a 47-10 victory. Does Stratford have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Deal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
