Basketball Recap: Allendale-Fairfax Drops Highest Score of Season Against Calhoun County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Allendale-Fairfax). They walked away with a 44-36 victory over the Calhoun County Saints on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Saints two weeks ago, they had to take a 36-20 defeat.

Despite the loss, Calhoun County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cassidy Pough dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pough has scored all season. Raniya Tyler was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

The win got Allendale-Fairfax back to even at 2-2. As for Calhoun County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Allendale-Fairfax will host Williston-Elko at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Calhoun County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lake Marion at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
