Softball Preview: Summit Spartans vs. Independence Eagles

The Summit Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Independence Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Summit is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Summit can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Franklin 16-1. The victory was just what Summit needed coming off of a 13-2 defeat in their prior matchup.

Bella Uppinghouse made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Uppinghouse has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances.
