Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbus). They never let the Sumter County Panthers onto the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Blue Devils have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maya Bagsby was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmie Jones, who went 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Columbus hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in eight consecutive games.

Columbus pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Sumter County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Columbus will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sumter County, they will be defending their home-field for the first time for the first time when they go up against Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
