Baseball Recap: Trico Comes Up Short

Trico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Steeleville Warriors. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Trico's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Steeleville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trico will take on Goreville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blackcats' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Steeleville, they will challenge Dupo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
