Volleyball Game Preview: Wheeler Bearcats vs. Hanover Central Wildcats

Wheeler hasn't had much luck against Hanover Central recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bearcats will face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

Wheeler lost 3-0 to Illiana Christian on Monday.

While Wheeler was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Hanover Central made easy work of Highland on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

Hanover Central never let Highland on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-13, 25-23.

Hanover Central's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Wheeler, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 17-9.

Wheeler skirted past Hanover Central 3-2 in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
