Carson is 9-1 against Banning since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Colts will venture away from home to take on the Pilots at 3:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Carson came out on top against Narbonne on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Colts' pitchers stepped up to hand the Gauchos a 10-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Colts as they're now sitting on three straight.
Isabella Campos looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Atiana Rodriguez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Ruby Grajeda was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Carson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Banning made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rancho Dominguez on Thursday. The Pilots put the hurt on the Lobos with a sharp 18-3 win.
Banning got a massive performance out of Kourtney Talanoa, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Joliene Pina also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Banning now has a winning record of 13-12-1. As for Carson, their record is now 16-7.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Carson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .518. However, it's not like Banning struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Carson's way against Banning in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Carson made off with an 11-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
