Baseball Recap: West Carroll Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between West Carroll and Gleason, and Gleason kept the tradition alive. The West Carroll War Eagles fell 10-6 to the Gleason Bulldogs on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the War Eagles have lost by exactly four runs.

Caleb Vermillion was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

West Carroll dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Gleason, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5-1.

Coming up, West Carroll will be playing at home against Jackson North Side at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gleason, they will head out to challenge McKenzie at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Gleason is facing McKenzie at the right time seeing as McKenzie is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
