Basketball Recap: Celina Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

It was a proper cat-fight when Celina duked it out withPanther Creek on Tuesday. The Celina Bobcats fell 71-62 to the Panther Creek Panthers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Panther Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was RODNEY WAGNER out in front who went 9 for 18 en route to 23 points and six boards. WAGNER continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. XAVIER RAINWATER was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight assists.

Celina's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-13. As for Panther Creek, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-8.

Celina and Panther Creek should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Celina will face off against Lake Dallas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 195 places (167 vs. 362). Celina is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Panther Creek (ranked 75th) will meet Van Alstyne (ranked 762nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
