Softball Game Preview: Green Run Stallions vs. Indian River Braves

The Green Run Stallions will face off against the Indian River Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Green Run will be strutting in after a win while Indian River will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with 13 defeats in a row, Green Run turned things around against Salem last Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sundevils, sneaking past 4-2.

Lily Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrea Wilson-Howard, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Indian River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against Hickory, falling 12-0.

Indian River's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Green Run, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-14 and their overall record up to 3-15.

Green Run took their win against Indian River in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 22-1 score. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
