Soccer Game Preview: Auburn Mountainview vs. Kentlake

The Auburn Mountainview Lions will square off against the Kentlake Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Kentlake will be up against a hot Auburn Mountainview team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Auburn Mountainview blew past Federal Way 4-1 on Tuesday. Considering Auburn Mountainview have won three matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Federal Way with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from NEIVER GALVIZ MENDOZA, Sergio Mercado, Benjamin Toscano, and Benjamin Yitbarek.

Meanwhile, Kentlake hadn't done well against Decatur recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Kentlake had just enough and edged out Decatur 4-3. Considering Kentlake's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Auburn Mountainview's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Kentlake, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-1-2.
