Softball Recap: Ramsey Comes Up Short

Ramsey extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-11. They came up short against the Neoga Indians, falling 19-4. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Neoga, their win bumped their record up to 8-9. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Neoga's part, Josalyn Brandenburg and Hannah Propst made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Brandenburg didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Propst pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Brandenburg went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Propst got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Propst a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Ramsey will head out to take on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neoga, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Arthur-Lovington at 4:30 p.m. on May 11.
