Volleyball Recap: Manor Takes a Loss

Manor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They came up short against the Hutto Hippos, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hippos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Manor was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22, 25-9.

Hutto found their leader in sophomore Teagan Coombs, who had seven digs and four aces.

Manor's loss dropped their record down to 5-30. As for Hutto, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 14-26 record.

Manor and Hutto could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Mustangs will face off against Vista Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (1030 vs. 190). Meanwhile, Hutto (ranked 524th) will meet Vandegrift (ranked 230th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
