Highlands and Cherokee are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Highlanders will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Highlands came up short against Hayesville and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-8, 24-26, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Cherokee had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to Brevard on Tuesday.

While Cherokee ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-18.

Highlands suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Cherokee in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
