Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Lake Zurich's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

The Lake Zurich Bears were able to grind out a solid win over the Assumption Knights on Saturday, taking the game 5-1.

Lake Zurich has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Assumption, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Zurich will face off against Prospect at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Bears have won three straight at home, while the Knights won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Assumption, they will welcome Fort Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
